Optimism

I realised something all of my idols have a healthy dose of, and that is optimism. Andy Clark, Lars Iyer, Jambo Truong; all exercise this approach to life and it seems to work. It certainly helps when getting through struggles to see the positive side of things.

My inclination when life throws me a difficult hand is to shrink away, not having to explain myself to anyone. And yet, it is much better to practice speaking the truth of the matter, and having an optimistic stance on life. Life turns in many different ways at different times, so adjusting this outlook will have far-reaching positive implications for every facet of life.

This is something I want to keep in mind at all times, I am a transitory being, so why hold fast only to positive experiences? Surely it is also interesting to observe and inhabit the negative too?
